Advanced Skin Treatments

Our treatments are designed to improve your skin’s function and appearance. The RF and IPL treatments also address dry eye!

Radio Frequency (RF) Treatment

RF is a non-invasive treatment to address dry eye symptoms caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). A small and precise applicator delivers gentle heat to the delicate eye area, thereby targeting the underlying causes of MGD, such as gland blockages, and promoting improved blood circulation and gland function. RF thermal energy also promotes a process called neocollagenesis, or the growth and repair of collagen. This helps rebuild and repair the meibomian glands, and results in smoother, tighter, and more youthful-looking skin.

By stimulating gland activity and secretion, RF treatments can help alleviate dry eye symptoms including; discomfort, blurred vision, irritation, and improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and under eye bags.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatment

IPL treatments deliver targeted light energy to areas of the face, and delicate eye area, offering benefits for dry eye, inflammation, and pigmentation concerns. Light energy targets tiny inflammatory blood vessels just below the skin, reducing eyelid inflammation, rosacea and improving collagen synthesis.

In addition, IPL also destroys harmful skin bacteria and eyelash mites (demodex), relieving dry eye symptoms and associated discomfort. Additionally, IPL’s ability to target pigmented areas can be utilized to address issues like hyperpigmentation, age spots, liver spots, or sun damage improving the aesthetic appearance around the eyes, areas of the face, and body.

Radiofrequency (RF) energy is safe and effective for all skin types and tones because it relies on thermal energy rather than light pigment. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), on the other hand, targets melanin and red pigment, making it ideal for lighter to medium skin tones. We can help you assess your skin tone to ensure we select the safest treatment for you.

Skin & Eye Health FAQs

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive regarding our skincare and eye health treatments. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us!

  • How can a MedSpa treatment help my dry eye symptoms?

Since Kennedy MedSpa operates within Kennedy Vision Health Center, we treat skin and ocular health simultaneously. Conditions like Dry Eye and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) are frequently linked to inflammation around the eyelids and face. We use radiofrequency (RF) and intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments to deliver targeted thermal and light energy to clear clogged oil glands, reduce inflammation, eliminate eyelash mites, and restore healthy eye function.

  • Are RF and IPL treatments safe for the delicate area around the eyes?

Yes. Our procedures are non-invasive, non-surgical, and performed by licensed provider specially trained in both skin aesthetics and eye health. We use precise applicators and protective eye gear to ensure your comfort and safety.

  • What is the difference between RF and IPL, and how do I know which one I need?

Radiofrequency (RF) uses gentle heat energy to melt blocked oils in the meibomian glands and stimulate new collagen production, targeting dry eye, sagging skin, and fine lines. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) uses light energy to destroy harmful skin bacteria, clear abnormal inflammatory blood vessels, and fade hyperpigmentation or sun spots.

We can help you evaluate your skin, ocular health, and specific goals to recommend the right treatment.

  • Can I wear makeup or contact lenses to my treatment?

It is strongly encouraged that you don't wear your contacts to your treatment, but if you do, please arrive a few minutes early to take them out. As for makeup, we advise you not to wear any for the rest of the day after your treatment.

  • Are IPL and RF treatments suitable for all skin tones?

Radiofrequency (RF) energy is safe and effective for all skin types and tones because it relies on thermal energy rather than light pigment. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), on the other hand, targets melanin and red pigment, making it ideal for lighter to medium skin tones. We can help you assess your skin tone to ensure we select the safest treatment for you.
